“The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and
self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply,
because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another
without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve
others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone
speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves,
he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may
be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and
ever. Amen.” – 1 Peter 4:7-11
This page was developed to help one another come to a more complete understanding of the Gospel ("The Good News of Peace") of Jesus Christ exactly as it is stated in the Bible. This page is here to help you to know exactly what the Bible says concerning salvation, and understand the truth about God and His Son, Jesus.
This page was created to tell people around the world what the Bible (The Word of God) says you must to do to save your soul, to encourage people to read the Bible and see what the Bible really says you must do to be saved (to live eternally).
You are encouraged to read the whole Bible from beginning to end. Be careful not to take scriptures out of context by simply flipping through and reading single passages or verses. In doing so, the scripture tends to lose its original meaning. This is probably why there are so many divisions among Christianity today. So many people tend to read what their itching ears want to hear and simply skip the rest, especially if it requires them to make any significant changes in their lifestyle.
Again, this page was developed to encourage people to find out what the Apostles of the first century really preached (Please read the book of Acts).
As you read the Book of Acts along with the other books of the Bible, here is a list of few of the things that you will not find (All of these are man-made practices and beliefs. These are considered to be false teachings. These practices were not taught by the Apostles, Peter and Paul. They warned us against following such teachings.)
- Original Sin.
- Teachings pertaining to the state of “limbo”.
- Baptism by sprinkling.
- Baptism as an outward sign of an inward faith.
- Baptism for church membership.
- Instructing sinners to simply say the “Sinners Prayer” in order to be saved.
- Justification by faith only.
- Many ways to be saved.
- Once saved, always saved.
- Baptism for the dead. - Anything to
support the Book of Mormon (If you are considering Mormonism, please read
the following taken from the “Recovery
from Mormonism Web Site”: Investigating
Mormonism, A Mormon Church Translator for 15
years, Why I left Mormonism, and The First Vision.) However, what you will find in
the Bible is that if … … You are cut to the heart after
hearing the first gospel sermon preached by Peter (Acts 2: 22 - 37), and … Believe that Jesus is the Son
of God, and that God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ (Acts 2: 36), and … Repent and are baptized in the
name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2:38), then … … You will receive the gift of
the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), and … You will be added to God’s
kingdom (Acts 2:41). I encourage you to look up the scriptures that I have
listed to make sure I have not taken anything out of context. I am not so proud
of heart to admit my mistakes or misunderstandings. Your responses are most welcomed.
Please enter them in the Guest Book.
Summary - The First Gospel
Sermon (Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost after Jesus' resurrection and
ascension into heaven)
Acts 2:22-41 - "Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of
Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs,
which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God's set
purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to
death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing
him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its
hold on him. David said about him:" 'I saw the Lord
always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in
hope, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy
One see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me
with joy in your presence.' "Brothers, I can tell you
confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here
to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath
that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was
ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to
the grave, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and
we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has
received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you
now see and hear. For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, " 'The
Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a
footstool for your feet."' "Therefore let all Israel be
assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and
Christ." When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said
to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter
replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far
off--for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he
warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt
generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three
thousand were added to their number that day. (There is a God. He
created the world and everything in it. That means you, too.) Genesis 1:1-27 - In the beginning God created the heavens
and the earth. Now the earth was
formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit
of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God
saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. ...Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation:
seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it,
according to their various kinds." And it was so. ... And God said, "Let the
water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the
expanse of the sky." ...And God said, "Let the
land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures
that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind."
And it was so. ...Then God said, "Let us
make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the
sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over
all the creatures that move along the ground." ...So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (The Story of Adam
and Eve, and the Fall of Man.) Genesis 3:1-20 - Now the
serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He
said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in
the garden'?" The woman said to
the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did
say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden,
and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the
woman. "For God knows that when
you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good
and evil." When the woman saw that
the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also
desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to
her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were
naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for
themselves. Then the man and his wife
heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of
the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man,
"Where are you?" He answered,
"I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I
hid." And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten
from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" The man said, "The woman you put here
with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." Then the LORD God said to the woman,
"What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent
deceived me, and I ate." So the
LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursed
are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on
your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the
woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you
will strike his heel." To the
woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with
pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and
he will rule over you." To Adam he
said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which
I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because
of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the
ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.
The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. What separates you from God? What prevents
you from entering Heaven – the Kingdom of God? (Sin!!!!) Isaiah 59:1 - 21 - Surely the arm of the LORD is not too
short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated
you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not
hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips
have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things. No one calls for
justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments
and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil. They hatch the
eggs of vipers and spin a spider's web. Whoever eats their eggs will die, and
when one is broken, an adder is hatched. Their cobwebs are useless for
clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make. Their deeds are
evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands. Their feet rush into sin;
they are swift to shed innocent blood.
Their thoughts are evil thoughts; ruin and destruction mark their ways.
The way of peace they do not know; there is no justice in their paths. They
have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks in them will know peace.
So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for
light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows. Like
the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without eyes. At
midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the
dead. We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like doves. We look for
justice, but find none; for deliverance, but it is far away. For our offenses
are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever
with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities: rebellion and treachery against the
LORD, turning our backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering
lies our hearts have conceived. So justice is driven back, and righteousness
stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.
Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The LORD
looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no
one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm worked
salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. He put on
righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he
put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
According to what they have done, so will he repay wrath to his enemies and
retribution to his foes; he will repay the islands their due. From the west,
men will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will
revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the
LORD drives along. "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who
repent of their sins," declares the LORD.
"As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD.
"My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will
not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the
mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever," says the LORD. (Falling short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23) Galatians 5:16-26 - So I
say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful
nature. For the sinful nature desires
what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful
nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you
want. But if you are led by the Spirit,
you are not under law. The acts of the
sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition,
dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you,
as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of
God. But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ
Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in
step with the Spirit. Let us not become
conceited, provoking and envying each other. What reunites or reconciles you to God? (God requires the sacrifice of blood for the forgiveness
of our sins.) Hebrews 9:19-28 - When Moses had
proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of
calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and sprinkled
the scroll and all the people. He said, "This is the blood of the
covenant, which God has commanded you to keep. "In the same way, he sprinkled
with the blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. In
fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and
without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. It was necessary, then,
for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but
the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ
did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he
entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence. Nor did he enter
heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the
Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would
have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has
appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the
sacrifice of himself. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to
face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many
people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring
salvation to those who are waiting for him. Romans 5:6-20 - You see, at just
the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous
man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in
this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his
blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were
reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been
reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we
also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now
received reconciliation. Therefore,
just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in
this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- for before the law was given,
sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no
law. Nevertheless, death reigned from
the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by
breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass. For
if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace
and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to
the many! Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin:
The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed
many trespasses and brought justification.
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one
man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and
of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus
Christ. Consequently, just as the
result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one
act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the
one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one
man the many will be made righteous. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin
increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death,
so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord. (King of kings, and Lord of lords. Ruler of All.) Colossians 1:15-23 - He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in
heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers
or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all
things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body,
the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that
in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through
him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in
heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were
alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil
behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death
to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--if
you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held
out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been
proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a
servant. John 1:1-12 - In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been
made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in
the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning
that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the
light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light
to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the
world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that
which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received
him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of
God. (Jesus died so that you may be saved and live eternally.) Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12 - See, my servant will act wisely; he
will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. Just as there were many who
were appalled at him -- his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man
and his form marred beyond human likeness -- so will he sprinkle many nations,
and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told,
they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand. Who has
believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew
up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no
beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we
should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and
familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was
despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and
carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and
afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our
iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his
wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has
turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He
was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a
lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did
not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can
speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for
the transgression of my people he was stricken. He was assigned a grave with
the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor
was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause
him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see
his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in
his hand. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be
satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will
bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and
he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto
death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors. Are you going to Heaven? Are you saved? Matt 7:21- 22 - "Not
everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on
that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive
out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never
knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' (Everyone!!!!!!) Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter began to speak: "I now
realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism, but accepts men from
every nation who fear him and do what is right". (He wants all people to be saved.) 2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to
perish, but everyone to come to repentance. What must you do to be saved? What must you do to
enter heaven? (Being saved from past sins or justification comes when a
person believes in Christ as God's Son, repents of his sins, publicly confesses
his faith, and submits to baptism for remission of sins.) Mark 16:16 - Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned. What must you do to have your sins forgiven? Acts 2:38-40 - Peter replied, "Repent and be
baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of
your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for
you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our
God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with
them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who
accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to
their number that day. What must you do to be a Christian (a
disciple of Christ)? Mat 28:16 - 20 - Then the eleven disciples went to
Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him,
they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age." Is baptism really
essential for salvation? (Am I saved before or
after baptism? Or, does it matter?) Rom 6:3-11 - Don't you know that all of us who were
baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through
baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead
through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been
united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with
him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him
so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be
slaves to sin-- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we
died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that
since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has
mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life
he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but
alive to God in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28 - You are all
sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized
into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor
Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Examples of First Century Conversions Believers at

anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and
follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses
his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the
whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his
soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his
angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has
done." There is no other gospel. Beware of False Teachings. Gal 1:6-12 - I am astonished that you are so quickly
deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a
different gospel-- which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are
throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But
even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we
preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now
I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you
accepted, let him be eternally condemned! Am I now trying to win the approval
of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to
please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. I want you to know, brothers,
that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive
it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from
Jesus Christ. Rev22: 18-21 - I warn everyone
who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to
them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book
of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in
the holy city, which are described in this book. He who testifies to these
things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's
people. Amen. Come join the children of God and follow Jesus. (Churches of Christ Web Directory) We are simply Christians. We are

For You To Answer 1.
According to the first gospel sermon ever preached, which was preached by
Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, on the Day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts
(Acts 2: 22 – 41), what does Peter say you must do to be saved? What does Peter
say you must do to have your sins forgiven? 2.
Do you agree that Peter preached the correct or true gospel message (Repent and
be baptized) of Jesus Christ? If so, then are you
following/teaching/preaching exactly what Peter preached (Repent and be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit)? Is the message of salvation that you follow/teach/preach the same as
what Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost? 3. Is what Peter said on the day of Pentecost still true
today? Does the gospel message (Repent
and Be Baptized) that Peter preached still pertain to us today? a. If it is still true, then are you
still following/teaching/preaching exactly what Peter preached (Repent and be
baptized) on the day of Pentecost; or are you following/teaching/preaching some
other message or teaching? b. If what Peter preached does not still pertain to
us today, then when did Peter’s message become null and void? And, what made
Peter’s message no longer valid (binding)? d. If Peter’s message is no longer valid (binding), what is the
condition (state) of all the people (from the days of Peter until now) who have
followed (obeyed) what Peter taught on the Day of Pentecost? Are they saved or
not? 4. What
does the Apostle Paul say in his letter to the Galatians (Galatians 1:6-9)
about following/teaching/preaching a gospel other than the gospel (Repent and
be baptized) that was preached by Peter and all the other apostles? Am I saved
by some other gospel? 5. 3000 people

Personal Testimony of Jesus
Christ
As I traveled down life’s highway, I realized was getting nowhere and running into a lot of dead ends. I realized I was lost. I was really afraid of where my life was headed. There was no peace in my life. There was no assurance in my life.
So as the story of the Ethiopian goes, I pulled out the Scriptures, and began to read and search for some sort of hope, peace and assurance; and just as God sent Phillip into the life of the Ethiopian, He sent someone into my life to explain the scriptures more clearly to me. Together, we read of the good news of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as it was preached by Peter on the Day of Pentecost.
After hearing the gospel message, I too was cut to the heart and asked, “What should I do?” My friend replied as Peter did, “You need to turn away from the sinful lifestyle that you are living and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins.” So, I did. I have left the sinful life that I was living and got baptized just as the three thousand did on the Day of Pentecost.
Repenting was hard to do at first; I had to give up some activities and stop associating with certain people. Still today, I discover things in my life that are not pleasing to God that I need to repent of.
Even so, it was the best decision that I have made in my life. I feel greater peace and assurance than I have ever felt before. For the first time in my life I knew where I was going. I was no longer lost.
For those of you who are searching for hope, peace, and assurance, I wish the very same for you. I hope this page will help you find that, and I pray that God will send someone or something to help you understand the scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that you will receive the indescribable peace and assurance from knowing Jesus and his love.
Sincerely,
Mark Frazier
